Perspective

Sunday, 20 November 2011

**I didn't have a picture to go with the post, so I thought to use this one! I'm loving my new iPhone 4s, white, minimal and sleek, and Michelle looks so pretty on the cover of December's ELLE!**

What an amazing weekend it has been. It was finally time to drop, actually DROP everything and head home. My time in London was relaxing and indeed reflective. I got to spend time with my little brother Nathaniel who I had missed so much (He's become such a Smartie!), enjoyed long chats over tea with my Mum (who put a lot of things into perspective, I love the woman.), crack endless jokes with Alan (My Inspiration.) and Kezia (Sister and Best Friend.), and had an amazing day out with my friends. My daddy who I miss dearly is away on business, but I did get a chance to speak to him, and as always he was so lovely and encouraging!

Sometimes we get so caught up with Life, as they say, that we forget the things that really matter. I have a wonderful family, incredible friends, and opportunities to do the things I love doing, and I need to constantly remind myself that. Having these amazing people in my life put things into perspective really is a blessing, and I'm beyond grateful for that.

I want to thank you all as well for your encouraging e-mails, tweets and comments. You guys really are awesome. I want to do something nice for you all, so I'm going to be thinking about ideas for a giveaway (Long Overdue haha!).
Also, I have an Outfit Post coming up, and I'll be starting a new Beauty Series this week. I'm really excited, hope you are too! :)

xoxo

Beautiful post, it's so true that we allow the negative things in life to overshadow the many wonderful things that we should be grateful for.
Always good to get a little perspective!

Looking forward to the new beauty series :)

Shirley, I've been following your blog and YouTube for a little while now, & I must say, you are the most inspiring, uplifting, and mesmerizing person I've never had the chance to meet. Your words always seem to bring me back down to Earth. :)

Sounds like you had a great time! Family breaks are the best, aren't they?

On a completely different note, I hope I'll get to bump into you at an event soon. Comments and tweets are nice, but there is nothing like hearing how amazing your blog is from someone in front of you. : )
